The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has come up with a plan where ticket holders can cancel their flights within 48 hours free of charge. This new rule will allow passengers to change or cancel their air tickets without being charged any cancellation fee up to 48 hours from the time of the purchase regardless of what kind of fare it is. The chief aim for the introduction of the new rule is to give the travelers the right of first refusal in case of a sudden change of plans and to minimize the financial losses they would incur as a result of making an error in their booking.
